The Family Research Consortium fosters collaboration among researchers and practitioners from diverse fields who are interested in advancing understanding of families and interpersonal relationships.
Families profoundly shape individuals’ well-being over the life course through social and biological pathways. Recognizing that family, in its diverse forms, is the cornerstone of society, we believe that it is critical to:
- Understand how family relationships, and intimate relationships more
generally, facilitate or hinder optimal human functioning;
- Discover how different social contexts impact families and their
individual members; and
- Develop family-relevant policies, social services, and medical practices
that are informed by sound empirical data.
